【背景】船舶の操舵室に設置される重要機器の1つである電子海図情報表示装置ECDIS（Electronic Chart Display and Information System）の操作方法を容易かつ視覚的に分かり易く表示するために開発されたものです。

電子海図装置(ECDIS)は座礁防止を目的として導入されましたが、更なる安全航行への寄与を目的に機能拡張が続けられ、現在、その機能は多岐に渡り複雑化しています。そのため、船長・航海士にはECDIS訓練の受講が義務付けられているもののECDISの機能を有効に使いこなすまでには相当な習熟期間を必要としています。

【特徴】

ECDISの機能を使いこなすにあたり取扱説明書は不可欠ですが、この取扱説明書を電子化することによりデジタルデバイスの利点（検索機能・軽量媒体への大量記録、携帯の容易さなど）を加え、船上の現場におけるECDIS操作時において手軽に操作方法などを検索・表示できるようにしました。

また、船上での実際の操作の支援並びに船長・航海士を目指す学生向けの教育ツールとして役立てることも目指しています。

【構成】

　本アプリでは以下の4つの方法で、ECDIS操作方法を調べることができます。

また、各操作方法は、取扱説明書やECDIS実機画面に操作手順を付記したものを表示することで説明されます。

① 取扱説明書から直接調べる（Index Mode）

② 船上・航海における場面から調べる（Scenario Mode）

③ 習熟訓練の内容から調べる（Type Specific Mode）

④ 取扱説明書の検索機能から調べる（Keyword Search）
